Bring your lover, your son, your daughter

Come as I am raised for the slaughter

 

Come gawk and stare and laugh and smile

Come and witness death for a while

 

Come watch as they unload the bullet

Finger on the trigger, they pull it

 

Come speculate as they draw back skin

And unveil what I had kept within

 

My guts on display for you to see

My life, my death—just a mockery

 

Come and hear the voice I never had

Remain forever silent and sad

 

Come and leave my broken heart intact

Through the dissection—the circus act

 

Come, lions, in the name of science

Come and feast on my last compliance.
